Today was quiet, I didn’t get up to a whole lot. I slept kinda late and had a rather slow morning getting ready. I showered and spent some time tinkering with my grandmother’s laptop (she’s managed to lose all of her programs after a rather poorly thought out upgrade to Windows 10). I made myself look pretty and I put on some clothes.
I watched the first episode of ‘This is England ’90’ before I left the house today, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s been quite an interesting series, watching the characters grow and evolve but also the actors themselves change as they age. You get the sense that there must be some great relationships built between all of them having spent so much time together across the various seasons. It’s a little like a soap opera in that respect, except you only get these little snapshots, picking up a couple of years ahead each time and so you’re left to speculate about the goings on since the last one ended. All the drama plays out in three hour long episodes and then it’s over again. And you’re left to worry about how everything will pan out. If this season is anything like the last two I suspect I will have to get the handkerchiefs at the ready.
I headed up to Tesco in Carmarthen and treated myself to PENS AND LEGO. Two reasonably good things in my book. I picked up an aubergine and a little basil plant and some goodies to make the first few days of next week a little more bearable.
Cooked up tuna and aubergine spaghetti ร la Nigel Slater for dinner and made enough for two nights so I’ve got some leftovers for tomorrow as well – always a plus. The snoot is out roaming the gorge this afternoon and so I’m left to entertain myself. I decided to fiddle with Otter Poppet but then I started thinking about content and I remembered this blog and I felt guilty. Writing can be greatly cathartic, I should do it more often…
